Right Place, Right Time

right-timeWriting a blog, I have to admit is a new experience for me, but just one of many these days. When you start on a new adventure, you never know how things are going to turn out, but you start them because you know it’s the right thing to do. Door knocking was one of those adventures I regularly went on throughout my campaign, and I can’t express how many times these outings put me in the right place at the right time. As this is a new venture, I wanted to start out on a positive note and share a couple great news stories from our door knocking portion of the election campaign.

First off, I would like to say that is was great meeting with so many of you at your homes. This experience only confirmed for me what matters to you matters to me, and getting out into the community was a terrific learning experience for me. Thank you for allowing me to connect with you.

One of the best things that happened during my campaign was knocking on Owen’s door. Owen is six years old and is now a proud member of the NobleKing Knights hockey program. Owen is a great kid who had been working hard learning to skate and wanted to join a hockey team. Being new to the community, his parents weren’t sure how to go about getting him started on a hockey team. After talking to this family and learning about Owen’s love of hockey, we were able to make room for him to join our team. fred

Call it serendipity or right place, right time, but on October 24th, Besy’s birthday, we went to a friend’s door on the 8th concession. Our friend, Sue, came to meet us holding an undeniably cute French Bulldog puppy. This might have not been the wisest thing to do with 3 days left to go before the election, but we added a new furry friend to the family that afternoon. He had been found abandoned and out in the cold. After calling all the local vets and realizing no one was looking for him, we had him checked out, brought him home, and introduced our kids to their new puppy. William named him Fred.

These were a couple of the most positive moments, of a positive campaign…

  1. Your website looks great David! My family and I are so happy that we now have access to community information. The first step to feeling part of a community is knowing about what is happening around you. You have made this happen for us through our facebook page, Twitter account and now this fantastic website. We can’t thank you enough and look forward to seeing you and your family at our community events.

  2. Thank you Lori. Your feedback is appreciated! I saw this quote today by Henry Ford that I think sums up the notion of “Be A Part of It” quite nicely:
“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”

Thanks again, Lori. We look forward to seeing you and your family during the holiday event season, as well. — David.
